Sometimes, you just need to sit down.
Personally, I think all push carts should come with built in seats, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Most push carts focus on compactness, weight, and adjustability… not comfort.
I wish sitting down wasn’t something that had to be done so often while playing golf. Unfortunately, many golfers are painfully slow, which leads to lots of time waiting for them to hit. Also, walking while playing golf is great exercise, especially for senior golfers… but the walking can take a toll. A minute sitting down is sometimes all that is needed.
Anyway, this article is going to focus on the best push carts with built in seats that you can buy. I’ll break it up by budget: cheap-ass, best value, and super rich.
Cheap Option: PEXMOR 3 Wheel Cart with Built-in Seat
Most push carts are pretty expensive. If you want the lowest priced, decent quality push cart with a seat, the PEXMOR 3 Wheel Push Cart is your best option. It’s currently priced at $130 with free shipping. The only carts that are priced lower have terrible reviews, as they are too cheaply made, break easily, or don’t fold up well.
Features:
- Built in 8 inch seat
- Weight abouts 17 lbs
- Foot operated brake system
- Adjustable height to fit all ages of golfers
- Compact when folded (35 x 21 x 17 inches)
- Umbrella, scorecard, and bottle holder
Pros: The lowest priced push cart that has great reviews & a built in seat. Clearly the best choice for golfers on a tight budget.
Cons: Pulls to the left (not straight) when the seat is installed due to the extra weight.
Better Value: CaddyMatic XTREME 3 Push Cart
At $150, the CaddyMatic XTREME 3 push cart is the best value push cart with with a built in seat. It’s a little more expensive than the PEXMOR cart, and a little less expensive than the Tangkula cart. In my opinion, this cart is the best combination of price and quality. It’s only about $20 more than the PEXMOR cart, and it offers all of the same features, plus some.
One question that I had was whether the seat would drag on the ground when you are walking. Thankfully, the seat is on a spring, which only touches the ground when you sit down on it.
Features:
- Built in seat which can hold about 250 pounds
- Weighs about 16 pounds
- Folds up in seconds
- Adjustable height handle
- Umbrella, scorecard, tee, golf ball, and bottle holder, as well as an extra pouch
- Available in black and red colors
Pros: Best bang for your buck. Lightweight, compact seat with removable seat for a fair price. It’s the lightest of the four bags. What more could you ask for?
Cons: Although you don’t have to remove the seat to fold it up, the seat will stick out pretty significantly when folded up.
Best Under $200: Tangkula Golf Trolley with Removable Seat
The Tangkula Golf Push Cart is currently the best selling golf cart with a seat on amazon. Why? A fair price and the best reviews… by far. This cart comes with a removable seat, so that you can use it when you want and leave it in the car when you don’t. That’s not the case for the other three carts in this article.
Although Tangkula is not a brand that you’ve probably heard of, the reviews speak for themselves. Oh, and they are real reviews, not fake ones that you see for lots of other products.
Features:
- Removable seat for when you want to sit down
- Weighs about 19 pounds
- Foot operated brake system
- 4 adjustable heights
- Easy clip bag straps
- Compact when folded (33 x 20 x 17 inches)
- Umbrella, scorecard, and bottle holder
- Available in red, navy, and green colors
Pros: The best push cart with a seat on the market, especially if you only have a budget of around $200. The seat is also removable, and this cart is more compact (when folded up) than the cheaper push carts.
Cons: A couple of buyers complained that the cart would collapse on them while walking. Most likely due to not properly locking the mechanism correctly from the start, but I thought it was interesting that two different buyers had the same complaint.
Best Bag & Push Cart Combo: Sun Mountain Combo Cart
The Sun Mountain Combo Cart is unlike another cart. It’s also unlike any other golf bag. That’s because it’s both a push cart and a golf bag. Oh, and it has the most durable and comfortable seat on the market.
If you think about it, this just makes a lot of sense. For walkers, having a push cart + golf bag all-in-one is a perfect solution. You never have to put the bag on, or take the bag off when you put your bag in the car. You’ll also never have to worry about strapping in your golf bag. It’s already ready to go! Just expand the cart, and you are ready to walk to the first tee. You’ll save lots of time and stress with getting your bag ready.
I won’t lie to you, though. This bag is extremely rare and hard to find. It’s currently sold out everywhere, so your best bet would be to find a used on on eBay.
Features:
- Integrated seat with back support, unlike the other 3 bags.
- Weighs 25 pounds
- Combines a golf bag and a golf push cart
- Adjustable handles
- Available in lots of different colors (white/pink, black/orange, black/red, black/green)
Pros: The PERFECT combination for those that only walk when they play golf. The most sturdy and comfortable seat on a golf bag cart that you’ll ever find.
Cons: Very hard to find. Very expensive option. Not very compact when folded. Will only work for those that walk every time. If you end up playing a course that requires you to ride, or if you ever need to take your golf clubs on a flight with you, you’ll have to have a separate golf bag, which will be a big hassle.
