There are tons of articles about the best golf clubs that you can buy. Nearly all of these clubs are suited more for men, though. The golf club shafts that men use are a little more “stiff” than you should be using, though. Men’s clubs are meant for a faster swing speed compared to ladies flex golf clubs. So if you want the clubs that are best suited to you, a women’s flex golf club set would be ideal. All of the sets that I list below are fitted with ladies shafts, meant for slightly slower swing speeds to maximize distance.
Golf clubs are like any other product on any other market. There are clubs that are super cheap, and there are clubs that are crazy expensive. The cheap clubs will likely break much quicker than a more expensive, name brand set. After hitting the ground a certain number of times, the club heads will just come right off the club. If you take good care of the clubs and don’t make hard contact with the ground, though, they will last plenty long. If you know that you are going to be playing golf for many years with those clubs, it would make sense to buy a slightly more expensive set.
A lot of the articles that I write on this site are based around finding the best value golf clubs. You know the kind. They are the best golf clubs for the money. They fall somewhere in between the low quality sets and the overpriced clubs that are released every year.
Typically, the best value golf clubs for women end up being golf sets that were released many years ago. Since then, the companies have released new sets that they have priced at a premium. Therefore, the older sets slowly reduce in price. The good news is that golf club technology has not improved at all in the past 5 years. A brand new complete set from Strata made five years ago will produce the exact same results as a brand new set made today.
When determining which golf clubs are perfect for you, you should consider a few things.
- Price: you want to buy the best set that your budget can afford. If you spend too little and buy a low quality set, you will most likely end up breaking them and needing to buy a new set. Or, the set will just not produce the feel and results that you’d expect.
- Brand: brands are an important factor in golf. Brands tend to stay very consistent, as they found their target audiences and tend to stay there. For example, Wilson is the cheapest brand that still makes decent quality clubs; Callaway Strata is the best value brand for women’s golf clubs; Callaway Solaire is the best model clubs for women overall.
- What clubs you need/want: different sets offer different clubs, so you need to know what you need. I’ll try to help in a few sentences. First, hybrid golf clubs are easier to hit than irons. So if you struggle with hitting the ball like you’d want, try to get at least one hybrid. Second, determine if you want a sand wedge. If you want to learn how to properly hit a bunker shot, you’ll need to get a sand wedge, as sand wedges have what is called “bounce”.
- Appearance: different brands and models all have different looks to them. If you are not confident with how the clubs and bag looks to you, then you won’t want to play. Find a bag and style that fits your eyes.
Alright, let’s start getting into the best ladies golf clubs on the market. I’ll try to split this article up into different section so that you can determine which clubs are best fit for you and your budget. Remember, try to buy the best golf clubs that you can afford. If you don’t buy a good set to begin with, you might end up having to buy a new set later on. So make the initial investment today, and it could last you your entire lifetime.

The Best Cheap Ladies Golf Clubs: Wilson Women’s Ultra Complete Set
Wilson is a godsend when it comes to low priced ladies golf club sets. All of their golf clubs come at a huge discount compared to other top brands.
I’m sure you have heard of Wilson when it comes to sporting goods. What you might not know, however, is that Wilson used to to be one of the top brands in all of golf a couple decades ago. They have since stopped their focus on golf so much, and chose to focus on other sports instead. However, they still know how to make good quality golf club sets. The best thing is that, because they don’t market as much and spend millions on golf ads, they don’t have to raise the prices of their clubs so much. What we are left with is the more undervalued golf club sets for all female golfers.
Here is everything that is included in the Wilson Women’s Ultra set:
- a driver with a large sweet spot
- an easy to hit three wood for long shots
- a hybrid for shots that need to fly long and high
- very forgiving irons (6-PW)
- a blade putter
- a cart bag that you could also walk with if you wanted to
- headcovers
Although it doesn’t come with a sand wedge (SW), you can do practically everything you needed to with the pitching wedge (PW), so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. The only downside is that the pitching wedge is not exactly designed to hit a bunker shot properly. You can still easily get it out of the sand with the PW though.
Overall, I really like the design of the Wilson Women’s Ultra golf club set. It looks very similar to a more expensive brand’s clubs (Cobra). It looks like it costs way more than it actually does, which is a huge plus.
If you are looking to spend the least amount of money on golf clubs, this is definitely the set for you. It has everything you need (SW aside), and nothing that you don’t. If you pick a set that is any cheaper than this set, then you are likely buying a very poor quality, off brand set. I would never suggest that. You should stick with good golf brands, as they have been making high quality clubs for many years. They know that their brand name is as risk, so they would never dare make a low quality set. Plus, customer service from a brand will be a ton better than an off brand golf club set.
Best Value Women’s Golf Clubs: Women’s Strata Complete Set
If you want a step up from the Wilson set above, then a entry level Strata set is the one that is best for you. These clubs are slightly higher quality on average. The fairway woods and irons feel a little better when struck properly. The driver will most likely travel a small bit further than the Wilson, but definitely not a big difference. In general, though, the clubs will last a few years longer all things considered.
This set is a little different, as it only has two irons: 7 and 9 irons. The 5 hybrid is a great club, as many ladies cannot hit a 5 iron very consistently. The hybrid is made to make the ball get in the air easier and quicker. It is more forgiving, due to all of the weight in the back of the club. There is not a 6 or 8 iron, and there is no pitching wedge. It basically just skips every other club, leaving a small gap. However, if you are new to golf, then this is not a problem at all. Saving the money by buying a lesser number of clubs is still the way to go.
Another difference compared to the Wilson set is that the Callaway Strata complete set set DOES have a sand wedge. This is a decent benefit, as it will allow you to learn how to properly hit a bunker shot. A sand wedge, as compared to a pitching wedge, has something called “bounce” on the bottom of the club. This allows it the club to “bounce” off of the sand and explode the ball onto the green. It makes bunker shot a lot easier, when used properly. So having a sand wedge is great if you are expecting to be a pretty good golfer one day.
The putter is also a little larger than the Wilson putter, which is a blade style putter. The putter included in this Strata set is what is called a “mid-mallet” putter, as it in in between a blade and a mallet putter. This will offer a little more forgiveness and consistency when putting, compared to the lower priced set.
Best Women’s Golf Clubs Under $500: Strata Plus Ladies Set
The women’s golf club industry is a strange one. There are a good number of sets under $300, and there are plenty of sets that are $500+, but there are not many within the $300-$500 range. If you have a budget of around $500, though, I would stick with the highest end Strata golf clubs that you can buy. Strata is simply too good of a brand to pass up on. They have a few different golf sets (this one being the highest end one). It simply includes more clubs, not necessarily any higher quality clubs.
However, the benefit of having more clubs, especially irons, is that you can be more precise when you become better. When you are a good ball striker, you can’t have large gaps with only 6 and 8 irons, like you do with the last Strata set. You’ll need as many irons as you can legally have, as small gaps will make a bigger difference.
So, if you expect to be a very good golfer one day, you should consider this Strata Plus Women’s Golf Club Set. You wouldn’t have to buy a higher end set down the road. Many people start off with a cheap set and then upgrade down the line. You might as well just get a good set from the get go if you can afford it, though..
This set includes a driver, a 3 wood, a 5 hybrid, 6-PW irons, a SW, and a putter. The bag is very similar to the last Strata set, but with a different color scheme. All in all, it has everything you need to start playing golf from day 1.
The #1 Highest Quality Women’s Golf Clubs: Callaway Solaire Set
If you have a large budget when it comes to determining which set you are going to buy, Callaway Solaire is the #1 best set you can get.
The clubs are made with much higher quality materials. They won’t break easily, and the shots will produce the best results possible. If you want to become the best golfer you can, you should probably consider these clubs. They are the cream of the crop for ladies golf clubs.
The irons are made very similarly to sets that they charge $1000+ alone for. The driver will feel great at impact. It will feel much softer than the clubs mentioned above, which have a harder feel at impact due to their lower quality.
Distances in general will be maximized compared to other sets. If you are wanting the extra 5 or 10 yards per club, the Solaire set is what you want.
The downside to this set is that they are very expensive. If you aren’t too sure that you are going to play hundreds of rounds in the future, I definitely wouldn’t even consider this set. And if you are trying to save money and stay under a strict budget, I again wouldn’t recommend this set for you. If either of those describe you, consider getting a cheaper or better value set.
