If you are looking for a special golf item or gift, you might just have to customize it yourself!
Believe it or not, there are plenty of items that you can personally customize for a decently low price. Considering all of the work that has to go into the logo printing and engraving, I think these are all relatively good deals. My personal favorite are customized divot repair tools and golf balls, as I have used both and love them dearly!
Cheap Customized Golf Balls
You have lots of options when it comes to personalized golf balls. For that reason, I have included a section for both cheap and more expensive golf balls that allow you to put a saying or logo on them.
For the cheap option, I’d recommend you go with the customized Wilson Ultra custom golf balls. These golf balls are decent quality, and they cost around 4x less than Pro V1x’s.
If you have a picture, logo, or funny saying that you want to put on a golf ball, but you don’t have a ton of money to spend, then this is your best bet. Otherwise, it is going to get expensive really quickly.
When it comes to the actual quality of the golf ball, these are much lower quality than the Pro V1x’s below. These balls won’t spin as much, as they are meant mostly for distance. However, if you are more focused on the personalization and saving money, these are definitely the ones for you.
This is probably the first thing you thought of when you hear “customized golf item”. These are extremely popular, but they are not permanent. I’m a bigger fan of personalized golf items that will last forever. These golf balls, on the other hand, will be lost relatively quickly unfortunately.
See the section below for some examples of really funny sayings that you can put on your custom golf balls!
Best Overall Personalized Golf Balls
If you have a lot of money, or if you want a premium golf ball, then you’ll have to shell out some extra money. One of my favorite gifts of all time is when my friend gave me a dozen brand new Titleist Pro V1’s with a funny saying (you don’t want to know it) on them. To be honest, part of me just wants to keep them to continue to look at and laugh at when I see them. However, I will definitely use them one day.
If you are buying a gift for someone special or for a business client, then this is the route that I would suggest you take. The cost is not much more than a normal dozen brand new balls, so it won’t hurt your wallet too badly.
Funny things to put on golf balls for yourself or someone else:
- It takes BALLS to play golf
- Hit Here (TARGET picture) Dumb Ass
- I’m not lost, I’m hiding from _____ (name).
- May the course be with you.
- Another year, another topped drive.
- Free golf ball compliments of _____ (name).
- If found, please hit better than the last guy
- _____ (name) hit this ball too far, now it’s yours
- I’m hiding from _____ (name).
- Hands off my balls!
- A top is an inch away from the sweet spot
- No ragrets, nam sayin (my personal favorite)
- Putt now, wine later
- Three lefts make a right
- I like big putts and I cannot lie
- I’d tap that!
- Golf is an easy game. It’s just hard to play.
- Fore?? That was definitely a six, _____ (name).
If you want to go a slightly cheaper route, consider getting the Titleist Velocity custom balls instead of the Titleist Pro V1 personalized golf balls. This will save you around $20 per dozen!
Customized Golf Divot Repair Tool
If you want something that will last a little longer, a divot repair tool is a great option. Every golfer needs one, yet many have never owned one before. When you make a small hole in the green, you need to fix it with a repair tool. You might as well have one that is customized!
Here is the best value option for a customized divot repair tool on the market!
Most repair tools even come with a ball marker, which is super convenient. Often times, the ball marker is the thing that is actually getting customized. That’s a big plus, as you can get ball markers customized separately as well. That means that you can change the look of your divot repair tool as often as you would like.
Personalized Golf Shoe Bag
Golf shoe bags should be way more common than they are. The fact that most golfers just get in their car with their dirty shoes blows my mind. They are tracking so much grass, dirt, sand, and more into their cars, which can be very difficult to get out.
Plus, they would be way more comfortable if they took their shoes and socks off and put on a pair of sandals or flip flops instead.
A customized golf shoe bag will encourage any golfer to actually USE it, which would be a win-win! If you are company looking to get your employees gifts, this is also a great option to put your logo on.
Personalized Tees
Personalized golf tees are the cheapest golf option that you can buy that is still customizable. You can put a small phrase or logo on each tee, which doesn’t end up costing much for each tee in the end.
This is a great option if you are buying for a lot of people, as costs of personalized golf items can add up super quickly. This is another great option for those that are buying gifts for employees, or for employees to use in a company wide golf event.
Make sure you are getting a long enough tee so that your logo/font won’t be too small to see.
Personalized Golf Towel
Golf towels are an absolute must while playing, and they are easily and cheaply customized as well. You can put your name, a logo, your initials, etc on the face of the towel.
Towels are great marketing tools, because they are so cheap and easy to personalize.
They will end up costing a little less than $15 for each towel, which is a great price!
Personalized Golf Journal
Golf is a game that benefits greatly from keeping track of notes and thoughts about your game. It’s great to keep track of new things that you learn, new swing thoughts that work well, things that you did wrong in your rounds, and things that you are improving on.
I used to use a small journal after each practice session or round, and it was great to get all of my thoughts out on paper and out of my mind.
I would have loved a customizable journal though! Just follow the instructions in the description to add whatever message you want.
Personalized Golf Club “Finders”
Golf clubs get lost. Golf clubs get forgotten. For that reason, “golf club finders” are great items to have. They are simply small plates that are inserted in the butt of each golf club. If your club is lost or forgotten somewhere, someone can look at the butt of the club and find your name and phone number to contact you.
I think these are super convenient for wedges, as those are the clubs that are typically left on greens and forgotten about. However, if you are prone to forgetting your clubs, then getting these finders for all of your clubs is a great idea.
Personalized Ball Markers
Everyone needs ball markers. They are used and looked at 10-30 times each round, so you might as well find ones that you really like! They can be a great talking point in your foursome, especially if it is a picture of your family or pet. You could also have your favorite sports team on your ball market.
Other great ideas for custom balls markers would be to post a positive phrase like “just trust it and let it go” or “smooth stroke” or “perfect line, perfect speed”. Anything that puts a positive image in your head can go a long way for making more putts.
