Let’s face it, why go ahead and pay the full fee for a round if there’s a way to still play while saving some money at the same time? Golfers around the world know that there are always tee time deals and various discounts on offer, but knowing where to find them, and also what’s available, is not the easiest thing to do.
But that’s where technology has become a game changer. Now, there are apps and websites out there entirely dedicated to this very thing, and what we have done is brought together the top 3 that we feel offer you the best deals allowing you to play a round for less.
TeeOff.com
You may remember the fun arcade game “TeeOff” that you could find at some restaurants and arcades. Well that game takes your money, while THIS TeeOff saves you money.
First up is an app called Tee Off, and this is available on both the Google Play store as well as the Apple Store. The first thing you notice is that it states it has millions of tee times from thousands of courses and a huge number of deals for you to grab. They also claim to have exclusive offers for various courses that you won’t find on any other app or website, so that alone sounds pretty impressive.
In addition, the app notes that you aren’t charged any booking fees, so there should be no hidden extras that will bump up the price without you being aware of it.
They also go big on location and reviews of courses. You can search for deals near your location, read what other players are saying about the course you are thinking of playing, and then go ahead and book a tee time at a reduced price. Also, if you are unsure as to whether or not there may be a better deal at another course, it will allow you to compare course prices before making a booking.
All of this takes place on a slick app and while not everyone is happy with the way it works, we think it’s cool. We also love that it has a loyalty program, so you can build up rewards when you use their app, and who doesn’t like additional rewards? Oh, and it’s free to download.
GolfNow.com
Golf Now is another app that is also available on both Google Play and Apple Stores with it being free to download on both. This app has tee time deals and discounts for over 7000 courses, so there should be something in your area.
This app has been downloaded more than 3 million times, so that’s a clear indicator of how good it must be. Also, it has a specific section focused on hot deals, so you should be able to find the best tee offers without having to search and search through the app.
As like Tee Off, this app incorporates various reviews on courses from thousands of golfers. They also make a big deal of having a lot of information on the courses themselves to help you better identify the right course for your type of game. Another similarity with Tee Off is that it does have a rewards program, so you will earn points when you book a round through their app and these points add up for you to then be given some rewards at some point in the future.
Perhaps the only downside with this app is that they do charge what they call a ‘convenience fee’ which is different to Tee Off. However, the vast number of tee off times they have on offer does help to kind of counteract that as a particular problem.
SupremeGolf.com
The final option in our trio is SupremeGolf.com which is a website dedicated to finding you the best tee off times and deals. What this does is it searches the millions of tee off times available on the various apps and platforms to then provide you with a comprehensive list of what’s available and how much it’s going to cost.
This is an impressive website that does all of the hard work on your behalf. You simply need to enter location details and desired tee time, and it will then provide you with a list that is near your location. All that’s then left to do is to go ahead with the booking aspect and you are good to go.
For the booking, it does send you to the actual other website itself, so it’s more of a convenience aspect rather than anything else. It searches GolfAdvisor, Golfzing, Golfbook, GolfNow, TeeOff, Groupon, and more to find you the best deal. Think of it like a search engine for tee times and you will get the general idea. Overall, it’s impressive at what it can offer while keeping things nice and simple.
Who Needs This Help?
These apps and websites are not aimed at any part of the market in particular but rather the general golfer who wants to save some money. There are no other requirements.
They are really both a money and time saver because how long would it take you to work through all the courses in your area to find out if they have any discounts or special tee deals? Unless you have that kind of spare time on your hands, then these apps will work for you.
Overall Verdict
For us, while they all work well, it’s Tee Off that is perhaps the best out of these three. This is purely because they do not charge a booking fee whereas Golf Now has some fees tacked on that will push the price up a bit. That’s not to say that you should avoid that particular app as it does have a huge number of positive features attached to it, and if you play on a regular basis then paying their joining fee to then avoid additional fees will work out with you still saving money.
So, what do you think about these kinds of apps? Do you use any of them? Have they saved you money or do you feel that they are a waste of time and more hassle than they are worth? Let us know in the comments section what you think.
