Another great feature is the fact that it contains a sand wedge. Many complete set options stop at the pitching wedge, and a sand wedge is handy for a beginner golfer.

Now that you know the pieces that go into this set, you probably want some more information on the quality of the collection. These Strata golf clubs are produced by Callaway. Callaway stands behind all of their products, and they will make sure that you are satisfied with your purchase. Will they spend as much money on the components of these clubs as they will on their brand new Mavrik line? No.
The claim to fame of the Strata set is forgiveness. All of the clubs have a large sweet spot and are very lightweight. The golf clubs are manufactured with an aerodynamic head shape that allows you some extra swing speed and distance as well.
The putter in the Strata Ultimate Ladies Set is a classic design built for both accuracy and some considerable control. Putting is difficult as a beginner, and getting a club that is both the correct length and visually appealing is essential. The Strata provides both of these.
The golf bag that comes with the Strata set is quite nice. It is a lightweight stand bag and has plenty of pockets for all of your golf balls and tees. This is not an incredibly large golf bag (which is a good thing), and it will easily fit onto a golf cart or push cart without causing a golfer to throw their back out!
Negatives
With all the positives we have given you about the Callaway Ultimate Strata 2020 Ladies Set, it’s hard to imagine a reason not to buy these clubs. There are two cases where we suggest looking into something else. First, if you are an established lady golfer looking for an upgrade from a beginner set, these clubs are not the best choice. They will feel too similar to your beginners set.
Secondly, if you love all the options that the Strata has but feel like it is too much money for a beginners golf set, we have another option.
Better Value Alternative: Ladies Tour Edge 2020 8-Piece Starter Set
The Tour Edge 2020 8-Piece set is a great starter set if you are a bit more budget-conscious. This set comes with fewer clubs than the Strata set, but it is undoubtedly enough clubs to get you started. The Ladies Tour Edge 8 Piece set comes with

Although you don’t get headcovers or the Callaway names on the club, if you just need a set to get you out to play a nine-hole round, the Tour Edge is a perfect choice.
Yes or No to the Strata?
There is a reason the Callaway Strata set keeps coming back every year, it’s practical, it’s priced right, and it works well for the beginner golfer. Each year Callaway makes a few small little tweaks and then rereleases the Strata. We always like to give you a more affordable option than the latest and greatest equipment, but we have to provide Callaway with a bit of credit on this one, the Strata is a great value.
