Amazon is great for a lot of different things. Unfortunately, buying used golf clubs is not one of them. So if you are on a budget, looking to buy a nice slightly used set of irons or a new driver, you will need to check out some other websites to find what you are looking for.

In this article, I am going to break down the best websites for buying different slightly used clubs, trying to break them up in the easiest way for you.

Ive bought from all of these websites, and I can attest that they provide exceptional used golf clubs at a huge discount compared to other stores, especially large stores like PGA Superstore and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

However, I’ve bought some clubs from terrible merchants as well, so hopefully I can guide you in the right direction so you don’t have the same poor experiences.

I have pulled prices for many different clubs from many different websites so that you can use only the best websites for used golf clubs.

Every website’s club condition scales will vary slightly. So, to be as consistent as possible, I looked at clubs in “hardly used, nearly new, 8/10” condition.

Alright, let’s begin, shall we?

The Overall Best Website for Used Golf Clubs: Callaway Golf Pre-Owned

Callaway Golf PreOwned is often times the best priced option for clubs when you take into account their weekly deals. More importantly, because these are USED clubs, I can also attest their customer service is incredible, and they are very conservative on their conditions graded. I once bought a “Good” condition Callaway X Hot driver from them and I honestly thought it was closer to a “Like New” than a “Good” condition.

They go through a pretty intensive process to determine the authenticity and condition of each club. They even give you a certificate, saying that the club is 100% authentic and registered in your name (kind of cool!). It’s very reassuring that you know for a FACT that these clubs are authentic. Fake clubs from overseas are becoming more and more common and convincing, so that reassurance alone is a great reason to go with Callaway Pre-owned.

They don’t just quickly take pics and list each club as soon as possible, as they have a reputation they have to uphold. They have a very in depth 10 point inspection process for each club on their website. For all of the work that they put into each club, the prices they offer are incredible. Plus, their selection is almost always the most diverse compared to all the of “used golf club” websites.

On top of that, as a decent Callaway fan myself, the fact that you can build a whole set of used Callaway clubs from this site for $1,000 or less blows my mind. And yes, that includes only slightly used driver, hybrid, irons, wedges, and a putter that are all only a couple of years old.

I truly do think that every company should be following this business model, as I feel like it keeps the value of their older models a little more steady, as opposed to other brand’s old models that drop drastically in price after a new release.

• Price: Almost always the lowest nearly the lowest prices on the internet. 3Balls might beat the prices sometimes, and Global Golf will sometime have lower prices as well, but not very often. When it comes to clearance/deals, they offer weekly deals with heavily discounted clubs, typically Callaway ones (should be no surprise). For example, at the time of this writing, they have a 30% discount on all Great Big Bertha clubs, which aren’t even that old!
• Selection: The widest variety of all used golf clubs, tied with 3Balls. I originally thought, due to the name, that they only had Callaway clubs. However, they have a wide selection of TaylorMade, Mizuno, Titleist, etc. They split their clubs into many different quality categories: Like New, Very Good, Good, and Average. I’ve bought one wedge that was classified as average, and I was very pleased with how little wear was on the grooves. They typically have a wide array of shaft flexes, shaft materials (both graphite and steel), different shafts, lofts,  and set options (4-PW, 5-GW, etc). When you are buying clubs from Amazon and other websites, it’s often impossible to find exactly what you are looking for, as the selection is too limited.
• Customer Service: Top notch. They have won many awards for their customer service. I have never had to use them, as I have had no problems, but all of the reviews online discuss how impressed people are with how quickly and easily problems are fixed. They have a 90 day return policy so that you can essentially try the club out before committing to it. On top of that, they have a one year warranty on clubs if something relating to the original manufacturing is defected. If they make a mistake, they will often ship a replacement club with same day shipping and at a higher quality at no cost. They fix problems quickly and make sure that you are satisfied, which is imperative nowadays.

TL/DR: Callaway PreOwned has a wide selection of clubs at great prices and with the BEST customer service for a company selling used golf clubs. And they have many different brands, NOT just Callaway clubs. 

The Often Lowest Priced Website to Buy Used Golf Clubs: 3Balls

Although Callaway Pre-Owned has the best prices for many models, 3Balls is typically the lowest priced option if you are looking to buy used golf clubs at a huge discount. And their selection is just as good as Callaway PreOwned, often times even better! They have a wider array of club lengths, lofts, shafts, etc. and their prices are on average $5-10 cheaper. They also have a great reputation in the golf industry. Although their authentication process might not be as in depth, I still 100% truth that they are selling only OEM golf clubs; no fakes from overseas.

I bought 2 Callaway RAZR Fit Drivers a couple of years ago for under $100 each, which was a steal at the time. They looked practically brand new, which was great considering I bought them in “Very Good” condition.

• Price: Often times the lowest priced options for used clubs online. They often beat their competitors by $5-10 on average, and often times even more than that on premium iron sets. Their clearance section often has some incredible deals too. So if you don’t know exactly what club(s) you are looking for, check that out to see if anything sticks out to you. 3Balls often times has brand-wide deals, where they have discounts on all TaylorMade iron sets for example. They also have a decent loyalty program where you can earn credits for every purchase that you make.
• Selection: They have a very wide selection of models, lengths, shafts, and lofts for all clubs. For older models especially, they have a super wide array of conditions for used clubs. Compared to Callaway Pre Owned, they don’t have as wide of a selection of recently released models. However, if you are trying to save money on golf equipment, you should stick with older models anyway (I recommend models that are 3-5 years old typically).
• Customer Service: Not as impressive as Callaway PreOwned, but still very good. Every company will make mistakes, no question about that. It’s just a matter of how quickly and successfully these problems get resolved. I’ve read a few bad reviews that customers didn’t get email responses, or that customer service team asked tons of questions and didn’t fully believe customers and that no resolution occurred. However, this was in a very small portion of the overall reviews, so I would still be confident that you’ll be pleased with your purchase from them.

TL/DR: If you want the lowest priced used golf clubs at a huge selection of shafts, lofts, models, etc, 3Balls is the website for you!

For Decently Priced Used (and New) Golf Clubs: Global Golf

Often times, it’s hard to determine whether you should buy used or new golf clubs. With Global Golf, you can easily compare the new and used (with many different quality ratings) prices to best determine which is best for you. Most used golf club websites don’t make it very easy to compare the prices of new clubs versus their used counterparts. If you just type in what club you want, though, you’ll quickly see the price difference and be able to determine whether the extra price is worth it.

They currently have a program going on where you can try 2 different golf clubs out for 2 weeks before committing to buy something. For $25 per club, you can select one or two clubs of your choice, compare them, and then send one (or both) back and purchase the other one. For that price (including a paid shipping label back), that’s a great deal to be able to try out exactly the clubs that you want in the exact specs that you are looking for. Often times, the only way to find the best club for you is to compare it to other clubs. Plus, they are now giving out a free Arccos trial golf swing/game tracker with each purchase to make the comparing easier.

Global Golf is one of the largest golf club websites ever, so they have a wide selection and a very large customer service team. Here is a more in depth review of the website:

• Prices: Very low for used clubs, but not as good as Callaway Pre Owned or 3Balls. However, if you can’t find the club you are looking for on those other websites, this is a great option to get what you are after without spending more than you need to. Plus, their constantly changing clearance section homes some incredible deals at times that sell out pretty quickly.
• Selection: To begin with, their putter selection is top notch compared to the first two websites that I mentioned in this article. However, their golf club selection is typically less impressive, as they don’t offer as many shaft, length, lofts, etc. as Callaway PreOwned and 3Balls. However, their selection of combo sets (irons and hybrids) is more extensive. So if you are looking to buy a combo set, this is a great place to start, as opposed to having the buy the irons and hybrids separately.
• Customer Service: Besides a couple of problem with inventory not being current and shipments not going out in a timely manner, most customer reviews seem very satisfied with their purchases. However, some customers had to spend a lot of time to get a refund when they made mistakes though, which is not a good sign but is to be expected from a company of this size with this many orders going out. Compared to the other two sites, their customer service is not as good on average.

TL/DR: if you can’t find the club you are looking for (especially putters and combo iron/hybrid sets) on 3Balls or Callaway PreOwned, check out GlobalGolf to see if they have it. They have fair prices, a decent selection, and a (not terrible) customer service department. 

Other Websites: 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue, TaylorMade Pre Owned, Golf Galaxy, etc.

Other websites, like the ones I mentioned above, simply don’t provide as much value as the first three that I listed.

Golf Avenue’s prices are borderline ridiculous for used golf clubs. Even though they say “lowest price guaranteed” on their site, they were consistently one of the highest priced websites that I have ever seen for used clubs. I 100% would not recommend.

TaylorMade Pre Owned doesn’t have a wide selection by any means, even for TM clubs.

Same with Golf Galaxy, which also has prices that are far too high in my opinion.

2nd Swing has so many old clubs that no one wants that it actually effects the customer experience, which is pretty sad. They typically doesn’t fall too far behind when it comes to the price though. As long as you go there knowing exactly what club you are looking for, you should be fine. They don’t offer as many flash deals/coupons as 3Balls golf does, however, so on average 3Balls will be the better option.
